Shannon (EINN) GA security procedures: New arrival and departure requirements

Universal Aviation Ireland reports that Shannon Airport (EINN) has introduced new security procedures affecting how certain general aviation flights are handled on arrival and how passengers, crew and baggage are processed before departure.

The key distinction for arriving flights is now whether passengers, crew and hold baggage were screened at the airport of origin under a security standard recognized by Ireland. Flights that do not meet those requirements may face additional controls after arrival, including parking in a controlled area and restrictions on access to the aircraft.

For departures, the former dedicated GA/VIP screening process is no longer available. Passengers, crew and baggage must now pass through Central Search in Shannon’s main terminal.

For operators, this means both the origin of the flight and the security status of the passengers, crew and baggage need to be considered before the mission reaches Shannon.
