Aeropuerto Las Américas (MDSD) serves the capital city of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. While commercial and cargo traffic are the primary focus, business aviation movements can be very significant depending on the season, due to tourism being the main source of income for the small Caribbean country. MDSD is open 24 hours a day but only has one runway (17/35). From north to south, there is a cargo terminal, two commercial terminals (A and B), and a general aviation terminal/FBO. Each one has its own designated ramp.
Cabo San Lucas International Airport is undergoing a revitalization. A new commercial aviation terminal across the runway from the general aviation building and two large hangars recently opened. The airport is managed by a private company, Cabo San Lucas Airport, which also manages the FBO.
San Jose Del Cabo International Airport, managed by private company Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, is the biggest and most important airport in the Los Cabos region. It’s a seasonal location, with the high season between November and April. The peak days are during Christmas time, and it is not unusual for the airport to be at 100% capacity around the holidays. The airport is open from 0700 to 2100 LCL (with extensions to 2300 LCL being granted on special occasions) and, like Cabo San Lucas, has one runway (16/34) and one taxiway. There are three well-defined areas at the airport. Two are for commercial traffic, and one is for general aviation. Domestic commercial traffic will go to Terminal 1, international commercial aircraft will go to Terminal 2, and the FBO building manages all the GA aircraft.
Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is located outside of Abuja, Nigeria's capital. The airport has a single runway (4/22) with domestic and international commercial terminals and a separate GA terminal and apron. A new international terminal was built and inaugurated in 2023, and it can process 15 million passengers annually. Nigeria's aviation industry is expected to grow rapidly over the coming years, as evidenced by this new terminal and other construction taking place in and around the airport.
