The F1 2025 season is upon us, and we have you covered with information on the locations where BGA may be most affected by the race. We’ll start our series with the upcoming Australian Grand Prix, taking place in Melbourne on March 16, 2025.

Puerto Plata International Airport is located on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic, just north of Santiago de Los Caballeros, the biggest city in this part of the island. The airport is open 24 hours a day and has one runway (8/26). While its main business is commercial aviation, it has significant GA traffic. The FBO is part of the commercial building but has a separate entry and is away from the commercial check-in area.

The UK has introduced a new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system designed to streamline the process for travelers who do not currently need a visa or have a UK immigration status. The fifth and final race in our F1 series on the 2024 races that impact BGA is the Grand Prix in Las Vegas, which will take place starting at midnight, Sunday, November 24, 2024.

La Romana International Airport, Casa de Campo, opened in 2000, is a 24-hour airport with one runway (11/29). The airport was built not only to give support to the people living in this area so they wouldn’t have to make the hour-plus trip to Santo Domingo but also to meet the needs of the growing Casa de Campo resort (which ran the old airport and began to exceed its capacity). The airport’s focus is more on BGA than commercial, as evidenced by the number of parking stands available for each type (40+ to 7, respectively). From west to east, there is the GA terminal/FBO building and the commercial terminal. Both have their own ramps.
