New Airport Opening in Cambodia: Techo International Airport (VDTI/KTI)

Techo International Airport (VDTI/KTI) is set to open on September 9, 2025, marking a major milestone in Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure. On the night before, the existing Phnom Penh International Airport (VDPP/PNH) will cease operations, making VDTI the sole gateway to Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s political and economic capital.
Why VDTI Matters to Our Customers
Cambodia is one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia, and Phnom Penh is at the heart of this transformation. With VDTI becoming the only airport serving the capital, it will offer a strategic opportunity for operators and owners of business and general aviation (BGA) aircraft to access a dynamic market with increasing demand for private and corporate travel.
VIP Terminal: Tailored for Private Aviation
At launch, VDTI will feature a dedicated VIP Terminal for all BGA flights. This facility is being designed to offer a seamless experience, with on-site CIQ and security services. In the future, the airport plans to expand to two or even three VIP Terminals, catering to different categories of VIP flights, including diplomatic and royal missions.
While the interior of the VIP Terminal is still being finalized, the airport operator is working diligently to ensure it is ready for the grand opening.
Fuel Availability
Jet A fuel will be available at VDTI. Operators should note that fuel payments must be arranged in advance, as on-the-spot payments will not be accepted by the into-plane agent. Contract fuel and retail fuel payments will be supported.
Crew Accommodation
For crew rest, we recommend international hotel brands located in downtown Phnom Penh, approximately 1 hour by car from VDTI. Popular choices include:
- Courtyard by Marriott
- Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra
- Fairfield by Marriott
- Rosewood Phnom Penh
- Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh
